Shrone Butter™

Last week the Junior Room made butter!

It was as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Firstly we poured cream into a jar...

Then we shook it and shook it and shook it!

We watched it separate into butter and buttermilk.

We pressed out the extra buttermilk and we were left with beautiful home-made butter!

Tea Party at Shrone N.S.

It's such a wet, cold and miserable day up in Shrone that we had to throw a tea party at lunch to warm us all up!

Luckily, Miss Drumm had plenty nice biscuits in the press for dipping in the tea!

What starts with T ...ends with T ... and os full of tea?

Sergei's Week at School

On Monday, Sergei came to school with Miss Drumm. Sergei is a meerkat. His job is the Tralee Ladies Rugby Team Mascot and it is his job to mind Miss Drumm this week.

The whole school was delighted to have him. We played with him a lot. Sergei played a great game of soccer and scored a hat-trick. He played on the swings and slide - he liked the slide best.

Sergei enjoyed a cup of tea and a penguin bar for his lunch. We took Sergei outside and used the iPad to take some photos of his time at Shrone school.

On Tuesday, Sergei was very quiet. He was very busy making a skeleton and a pumpkin in art. He spent the rest of the day reading in the library. (We definitely think we heard him snoring at one point - ZZZzzzzz)

On Wednesday, Sergei met his first celebrity - Treasa from Radio Kerry came to visit our school. She talked to us about playground rhymes and games. Sergei got very shy and went off to play on the swings and slide. We can't wait to hear ourselves on Radio Kerry in the next few weeks.

Don't tell Miss Drumm...but the boys took him out to play rugby in the rain today ... he got his jersey a little dirty scoring a try.

Sergei can't wait for the Fancy Dress Halloween Party on Friday. We can't wait to see his costume.
