Shrone NS vs Hollymount NS (friendly football match)

Hollymount visited Shrone NS today to play a friendly game of football. We all had a great time playing against them. We will be against Hollymount again for the Credit Union 7-a-side tournament.

A big thank you to Mr. O' Connor for  refereeing the match. We were very evenly matched as the game ended in a draw!

Easter festivities kicked off in Shrone N.S on Friday morning with a fancy dress party followed by an Easter disco. After break everyone searched frantically for  eggs in the egg hunt. Another royal response from the Duchess of Cambridge

After a whole week of waiting, a reply from London finally arrived yesterday.
Michelle was delighted when Con finally greeted her with a royal envelope from Kensington Palace!
Michelle commented "I can't believe it, I thought it would never come!"

Junior Entrepreneurs 2014

Today, the Senior Room are in the Malton Hotel, Killarney showcasing their "Sea the Facts" project.

This is a County wide event and they are busy selling books,  explaining their project and looking at the projects of other schools from all over Kerry.

We have received a red Junior Entrepreneur flag to fly outside our school to show our involvement in the programme.

Hitting the Headlines

Our blog has recently come under media attention when Radio Kerry spotted our story about Orla receiving a response from Kate Middleton.

They got in contact with Miss Drumm and interviewed Orla and Michelle, who also wrote a letter to the Duchess of Cambridge and is eagerly awaiting a response.

Click Here for a link to the Radio Kerry podcast.

Our letter writing project has been hugely successful as Sophie received a response from Treasa Murphy in Radio Kerry and following on from our radio interview, Kieran received a response from Wayne Rooney of Manchester United in the post the same afternoon.

Kieran's reply from Wayne Rooney!

After yesterday's excitement when the post arrived, we were surprised again today when Sheila the postwoman arrived delivering a letter to Kieran!

As part of our letter writing project before Christmas, Kieran had chosen to write to soccer player Wayne Rooney. He was thrilled today to receive a reply from the man himself - with an autographed picture postcard!

Kieran commented "My hands are shaking, I feel like jelly - I'm speechless!"

So far we have had responses from Treasa Murphy (Radio Kerry), Kate Middleton (Duchess of Cambridge) and now Wayne Rooney (Manchester United). We are eagerly awaiting responses from some other well known personalities!
