Good Luck Michelle
Best of Luck to Michelle who is part of the “Rathmore Raving Ravens” who are performing in “Knocnagree GAA Does Lip Sync again” tonight.
Science Week 2019.
We investigated rocket propulsion. We made a model of a rocket powered car using a balloon, a hollow marker tube and a set of wheels from a toy Lego set.
Our first efforts were too heavy and did not have enough power to move so we cut down the size of everything and made sure the wheels were free to rotate we were then able to use the power of compressed air and expanding gas to propel our vehicles forward
We wrote explanations in English about how a rocket car works
We then decided to scale up the experiment and use a plastic bottle and a pump to build up even more pressure and get bigger and better results. This car couldn’t contain all the power and kept flipping over but we then removed the wheels and used the bottle as a rocket. The result was fantastic the rocket flew right over the school
Nursery Rhyme Week.
We will be participating in World Nursery Rhyme Week.
We will be exploring Baa, Baa, Black Sheep on Monday.
