May

Hi all hope you are keeping well. Spring is slowly turning into summer, the swallows are back, the cuckoo can be heard and the countryside and gardens are full of life. That brings May Day to mind for a lot of people a time when people celebrated the start of summer and maybe this week we can tune to the changes  that are happening in nature around us.

As May Day falls on Friday we can have a look at some of the traditions that have been associated with May Day in Ireland. Due to the restrictions in place the traditional May Day Mass is Shrone, climbing the Paps and praying the ‘Rounds’ are probably effected. IF you plan on visiting the ‘City’ make sure to maintain social distance especially as older people might like to visit the City as they have always done.
