Hurling Blitz.

Traditionally they don't start hurling til the cuckoo is heard, the cuckoo and the clash of the ash were heard clearly in Rathbeg  on Tuesday 18th. Shrone, once again punchng above theirweight were able to field a boys and girls team to compete in the INTO mini sevens against teams from Barraduff,  Holy Family,  Holymount, Kenmare, the Presentation Monastery killarney,  Gneevguilla and Knockanes. And compete they did, despite the small size of the population Shrone more than held their own, the boys losing 3-3 to 1-1 against a Holymount boys and girls team. They had the upper hand over gneevguilla, 1-2 to 1-1 and gave a strong Holy Family Rathmore team a fright 5-2 to 4-1  boys team, Jack Rogan, Daniel Lenihan,  Shay Buckley,  Thomas O Sullivan, Cathal Cronin, Eanna Murphy.  Markus O Brien unfortunately unavailable due to injury. Well done boys.
