Killarney Library. 📚
On Tuesday 1st October 2nd to 6th class enjoyed a wonderful trip to Killarney Library. The library sent a bus to collect us from school and we travelled in comfort and style to Killarney library. We were greeted by Eamon who gave us a tour of the building explaining where we could find our favourite books. We had some time to meet an author, Éanna Ní Lámhna who many parents might remember from “Mooney Goes Wild” and RTE Radio. She was there to read a little from her book “Wild and Wonderful.” The book is full of fascinating facts about animals we find in Ireland. Many of the things we think we know about animals may not be correct! Denis was fascinated to learn that squirrels don’t actually hibernate and he had a good chat with Ms Ní Lámhna about it. We learned a lot about rabbits, wasps and ladybirds. As Denis made an impression she presented him with a signed copy of her book. It was an excellent trip and we encourage everyone to join the library as only one child is presently a member. Many thanks to the library staff and Ms Ní Lámhna for a great experience.
