Isabelle O Sullivan (3rd Class) took part in her first 1km cross county race and against a field of 200 girls from 3rd and 4th from all over Kerry finished in 11th position. She will compete at this distance again next year. Well done Isabelle.
Daniel Lenihan (4th class) completed in the 3rd and 4th class boys 1km and finished 20th again out of a field of approx 200 children putting him in the top 10 percentage of runners in the county and a PB time of 4mins 3 seconds. Well done Daniel.
Thomas O Sullivan (6th class) had trained hard in school and at home for the past year for the 5th and 6th boys 2km race. A huge field of over 200 charged to the first corner, a break away group of three had the luck of the draw and cleared the first finer avoiding traffic. Sharp eyes picked out the Shrone jersey of Thomas O Sullivan in 9th position when the congestion cleared. From here on Thomas ran the perfect race a steady even pace for the first lap. On the sending lap he moved up a gear and picked off runner after runner over the last 500m to finish in 4th position and brought a medal home to Shrone. Congratulations Thomas and best of luck in your future career.
