Cumann na mBunscol.

The record books will show Shrone girls, three in a row champions in the East Kerry Cumann na mbunscol five a side competition.  2019, no competition in the COVID years,  2022, 2023. This is a team long in the making, Jessica, Eabhla, Roisin,  Danielle are Isabella all seasoned players from 6th class while Beatrice has taken to the game like a duck to water. The team is very much strenghtend by Laura and Grace from 4th and Aoibhinn and Esme from 3rd. 
The Shrone team played Holymount in a local Derby in Rathbeg, Shrone dominated from the start but were wasteful in front of goal in the first half however aided by a strong breeze in the second half were able to over come a youthful Hollymount side. 

No time to rest on their laurels Shrone continued to the county quarter final versus  Cahir NS  on Friday the 6th. Shrone started brightly and definitely brought their shooting boots to Barraduff Community field while goalkeeper Jessica Doherty stood tall when tested and delivered accurate kickouts. The bench was well used and all substitutes made a valuable contribution to the game. Shrone winning by a 12 point margin. 
The Shrone girls five a side will now play Knocknagoshel NS in the co. Semi final on Friday 12th at 1.15 in Castleisland.  Knocknagoshel overcame Duagh in their quarter final and will be stiff opposition.  We wish the girls all the best in their preparation and for the match.
