First Aid Course

Our thanks to Jerry from IRD duhallow who gave a very informative first aid presentation to the pupils in both rooms. He covered a variety of first aid topics to all of which were relevant  to the children’s  lives. The pupils got the chance to carry out CPR on mannequins. They learnt how to bandage a wound and they learned the signs and symptoms  of a stroke. It was the most enjoyable course and we would like to thank Jerry for his wealth of knowledge.

Time to plant.

On the 20th April all the pupils in the Junior room planted nasturtium seeds. We watched them grow from week to week and we watered them daily.

Every Tuesday we measured the size of the plant and we plotted the measurement on a graph. This morning the tallest plant was 28cm tall.

Today we transplanted them into the school garden. We are waiting now to see which plant will flower the first.

St Brendan

Sunday May 16th marks the feast of St.Brendan (Patron saint of Kerry). On Wednesday Kerry County Museum delivered a webinar. It was all about the life of St. Brendan. Following that pupils in the Junior room did various projects about St. Brendan. In order to mark the feast of St. Brendan Fr Pat has asked that all homes, schools and clubs in the parish would fly a flag this weekend. It is an expression of our gratitude to all those who have worked in the front line during the pandemic.
