Training session with Johnny Buckley

Today as part of Active Schools week we were delighted to welcome Johnny Buckley to Shrone N.S. for a training session. 

Jessica Doherty won this great prize in Daly's Supervalu. 

The pupils throughly enjoyed their training session and match with Johnny. 

They were delighted with the O'Neills kit supplied by Supervalu. 

Well done and thanks to everyone involved.

Hurling fun!

Today some of the pupils in the Junior  room practised their hurling skills ahead of a hurling blitz on Thursday. 

Memories from the Senior School Tour!

Today the pupils in the senior room went to Star Outdoors in Kenmare for their school tour. 

Here are some pictures of the activities they took part in today. 

They also took part in some water based activities. 

They then got a trip on the banana boat. 

Everyone had an enjoyable day!

A climb up the Pap Mountain.

On Friday 3rd June Mr. Coakley, Niamh, Caitlyn, Michelle, Orla and Aoife climbed the eastern Pap mountain. 

It took them 2 hours to reach the summit.

   They saw wonderful views and an abundance of rare plants and wildlife. 

They made it back down in an hour and half. Everyone had sore legs but they throughly enjoyed it. 

Thanks to the Cremins who supplied Icecreams for the journey back to the school. 

Junior school tour

On Thursday 2nd June the pupils in the Junior room went on their school tour. Our first stop was Fossa playground. 

We then continued onto Rossbeigh beach. We were blessed with glorious sunshine. 

We first of all had a sandcastle competition and then we tested the water.

Meanwhile Ms.Moynihan was doing a B.B.Q. and by the time it was ready we were all starving. Sausages never tasted so good.... She's an excellent cook! 

It was then time for a little adventure on the sand dunes. We climbed, rolled, hid and had great fun under brilliant blue skies.

All too soon our fun came to an end. We all had a most enjoyable day.
