Orla was delighted today when the post arrived and there was a letter from England addressed to her.
It was in response to her letter she wrote to the Duchess of Cambridge a long while ago. In the letter, Kate wished her luck in the pantomime in Rathmore and sent her warmest thanks for Orla's letter.
Orla commented "I was delighted to get Kate's letter. I thought I'd never get a reply it had been so long since I wrote to Kate."
A few weeks ago we were all practising handwriting letters. Ms. Drumm asked us to write to a well known person or a relative. We each wrote a letter to a friend, a relative, a role model, a celebrity or a sports star. Ms. Drumm found an address and we stamped and addressed the envelopes before going out to the postbox right out the school gate. Con the postman took our letters and off they went to their destination.
Sophie was delighted today, when the post arrived and there was a letter from Treasa Murphy in Radio Kerry. Sophie said "I don't know what to say. I am just over the moon." Sophie read out the letter to the whole class.
We can't wait to see what other responses we get from the people that we wrote to!
